Rescue Perspectives

Many people do not understand the need for rescue or the practical considerations of placing a dog into a new home. The two commentaries below go a long way to identifying the kinds of dogs and owners who make up a typical rescue profile. A rescue situation, though very distressing, is best handled by people who are able to focus on the welfare of the dog and any future people it may be placed with. Not every dog is a suitable rescue, especially when one considers the size and strength of an LGD. Both of the writers below have years of experience behind them, and their knowledge is ignored at the peril of all breeds.
