Welcome to pLAces, a rundown of must-see sights in the Los Angeles
metropolitan area, better known as Southern California. It's typical for transplants to
whine about SoCal being "sooo spread out," but as a native, I never saw it that way; it's just the way
it is. Of course, it has to be "spread out," you need room for all the beaches,
hills, valleys and mountains, right? (Something those people from all those "packed in" cities aren't used to...)
