These sites have nothing to due with Acton or Agua Dulce

The Vanguard News This is the old opening page when we went dormant. It is saved as an historical document Agua Dulce Vineyards From their website" It began with one piece of land, two separate dreams and a casual dinner conversation between Ray Watt and Don MacAdam." See http://www.aguadulcevineyards.com/ It is a nice change from more homes and development back into agricultural use in the community. It also a tribute to the "good" live that a rural environment can create. The principals are well known high end tract developers. But after they became part on the community the have seen a different view. I wish them best for their winery and their support for a rural life stile in Agua Dulce. Compared to developers that want to rape the community with strip mines and the like, these are "developers" we all can love. 5-30-01 And another win for Acton. LA Regional Planning commission vote 4 to 0 to NOT issue a liquor permit to Albertson's. 70 spoke against the project and 6 in favor. Here is a fun link to Acton England I just saw they had a link to us. A public thank you to Carson Brothers Water Delivery and the Acton Volunteer Fire Department Go to their website and contribute. Don Dawson of Agua Dulce was quoted in the AV Press as follows" "in his mind, the real hero of the fire was Corky Carson of Carson Brothers Water delivery service, who dispatched eight of his trucks to the fire area and had the trucks and drivers spraying water on threatened homes." "That truck driver stood his ground as long as the firefighters did," Dawson said. "Even after I was leaving, he stayed." Here is a great idea an example of public service Bob Pearce a web designer in Palmdale has designed a Web site for lost pets. The site, www.avlostpets.com, has a database for detailed records of lost pets. Congratulations for helping the lost pets.
See the New Brink Family History page Schools and Unions.6-15-00 After keeping enrollment data off the public agenda and claiming everything in the Acton-Agua Dulce schools systems is fine, here is a dose of truth. In a statement from Superintendent Donald Banderas: "We're a declining enrollment district," Banderas said. "Next year, we're going to have fewer students and we can't guarantee solvency. He stated the district already has approved a union request to cut the school calendar from 185 to 183 days and at the same time increased medical payments for the district's teachers from $6,856 to $7,321. The community has steadily removed their children from this failed school system. What used to be a premier school district has been destroyed by the unions and the Dusick crowd to be the dumb and dumber district. The clear proof is the now the admitted declining enrollment. Parents keep up the good work of home schooling and let the Union and Dusick try to fill the schools with transfers from Palmdale and Lancaster Etc. If we ever pass a bond, pay or donate anything to the School District it goes to support these out of district transfers. Down and Down we go in a spin.... Look what the Dusick crowd has done to our schools. Lower scores than LAUSD's valley schools. And his claim that his jerks and Unions were pro schools have proven to be a lie. Just look at the State wide test results. 1-25-00 LA County 99 API High School Performance (161k) ReportActon (Vasquez) is 57 out of 168 schools in LA County. On a statewide basis Acton's score of 620 on a scale from 200 to 1000 is just over midway (600). It was slightly above Highland (615) but ranks below most valley LAUSD High Schools El Camino, Granada Hills, Taft, Grant, and Van NuysActon Elementary rates 737, Agua Dulce 728 and High Desert 717. Not distinguished just a little over average. The Dumping hotline number is (888) 8-DUMPING or 888- 838-67454.The penalty for illegal dumping is a fine of up to $1,000 and six months in county jail.
